A MAN was killed after he was run over by a car as he lay on a road in Barnsley last night, police have revealed.
The 56-year-old, who has not yet been named, was struck by a car - which failed to stop - on Co-operative Street, Goldthorpe, at around 8.25pm.
Police said the man is believed to have been ‘lying in the carriageway’ when he was hit but the vehicle involved drove off.
It was last seen turning right into Doncaster Road.
Police offices investigating the incident are looking for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw anything in the moments leading up to it.
