The driver of the damaged car, a Ford Fiesta, was able to free himself from the car, and he was helped at the side of the road by two members of the public before emergency services arrived on the scene to provide first aid.

Firefighters were called to the scene, on a corner, and found the car was smoking, and police also attended to close the road while emergency services worked.
