Man injured in trouble at park

A 22-YEAR-OLD Sheffield man sustained head injuries after being assaulted.

Police were called to Parson Cross Park, Deerlands Avenue, Parson Cross, yesterday, following reports of a disturbance at about 2.20am.

When they arrived, officers found a number of young men had been involved in the incident.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Northern General Hospital for treatment and observation.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A man was later arrested by police in connection with the incident.

Deerlands Avenue was closed in both directions until 10 am yesterday as police continued their investigation.
