Man in critical condition after being hit by a car outside Sheffield Arena

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car outside Sheffield Arena.

At around 9.25pm yesterday, November 28, a 19-year-old man was crossing Broughton Lane when he was in collision with a silver Audi A3.

The Audi was travelling along Broughton Lane towards Carbrook when the collision happened close to the Noose and Gibbet pub at the junction with Surbiton Street.

The man, from the Rotherham area, suffered life-threatening head injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Sheffield, was not believed to be injured.

Police are appealing for information following the incident and are asking anyone who saw the collision or who was in the area at the time to contact 101 quoting incident number 1125 of November 28 2015.
