Man hurt in hit and run

A YOUNG man needed surgery to reset a badly broken leg after a hit-and-run collision in Scawsby, Doncaster.

Police are appealing for information about the incident at 11.45pm on Saturday near the Roman Ridge pub on Barnsley Road, as two menwere walking home along Marvell Road towards Rowena Drive.

A vehicle, believed to be a dark Ford Focus, came from Barnsley Road and collided with the man before driving away down Rowena Drive. He sustained a broken leg which was fractured in several places.

Doncaster police would like to hear from any witness or anyone who saw a disturbance in the Roman Ridge pub or surrounding areas at this time. Call 0114 2202020 quoting incident number 1657 of August 11.
