A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a four-car collision in Barnsley.
The 62-year-old was driving a Peugeot 307 along Rotherham Road, from Athersley, when it was involved in a collision with a Ford Ka travelling in the opposite direction.
In the accident - at the crossroads of Rotherham Road and Carlton Road - the Peugeot 307 then hit a Peugeot 207 also travelling towards Athersley, before it came to rest against a Renault Clio waiting at traffic lights on Carlton Road.
The 62-year-old Peugeot 307 driver suffered chest injuries and taken to Barnsley District General Hospital.
A 38-year-old man driving the other Peugeot and a 21-year-old woman driving the Ka suffered minor injuries while a 17-year-old girl driving the Clio was unharmed.
The crash was reported at 10.35am on Monday.
