Man in hospital after stabbing on Sheffield estate

A man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Sheffield last night, police have revealed.

The 19-year-old was found injured in Club Garden Road, Sharrow, at 7.50pm.

He was taken to hospital with a stab wound, where he remains today in a serious but stable condition.

Police officers alerted to the incident sealed off an area around the Washington Road flats.

Detectives investigating want to hear from witnesses.

House-to-house enquiries are being carried out today.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police in Sheffield have issued an appeal for witnesses following a reported stabbing in the Sharrow area yesterday evening.

“Emergency services were called at around 7.50pm to reports a 19-year-old man had been found injured in Club Garden Road.

“He was taken to hospital to receive treatment for what is believed to be a stab wound, and he remains there in a serious but stable condition.

“Officers are in the local community carrying out initial enquiries and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area last night.

“Did you see any suspicious activity? Did you witness the assault?”
