Man gunned down in Sheffield street on the mend

Cameron Spalding, aged 25, was gunned down outside a house in Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, on Monday, February 13.

He suffered life threatening injuries in the attack and was rushed to hospital, where he remains today, but his injuries are no longer classed as serious.

A witness saw the gun attack on Mr Spalding.

He heard gun fire and looked out of his window to see two men pointing a gun at Mr Spalding.

The witness then heard two more shots and saw Mr Spalding slump to the ground.

A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives believe Mr Spalding was deliberately targeted.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The victim is currently still in hospital recovering from his injuries, which are no longer classed as serious. "Detectives investigating the incident do believe this was a targeted attack against a person known to the offenders."
