Man due in court charged over stabbing at Sheffield train station

A man is due to appear in court today following a stabbing at Sheffield train station on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the train station at around 8.30pm following reports that a man had been stabbed.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering a leg injury, consistent with having been stabbed.

British Transport Police have today charged a man in connection with the serious assault.

Damien Crookes, 31 of Brightmore Drive in Sheffield was charged last night with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was remanded in custody overnight and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.
