Man dies after Renishaw horror crash

A man has died after an early-morning crash in Renishaw.

Police were called to Main Road at about 5.40am after receiving reports of a collision between an Audi and a Ford Fiesta.

Both drivers were taken to Sheffield Northern General Hospital where the Fiesta driver was pronounced dead. He is thought to be in his 40s. He has not yet been formally identified.

The Audi driver remains in hospital with leg injuries. He is in a stable condition.

The road was closed for several hours but has now been reopened.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 54 of April 19.
