Man claiming to work for McDonald's sends sick Hillsborough Disaster tweets

Fast-food chain McDonald's have launched an investigation after a man claiming to work at one their branches posted vile tweets about the Hillsborough disaster.

The company said it was conducting an internal investigation and taking the matter "very seriously".

Twitter user @KieranHill8, whose profile stated he worked for the Bury branch of the restaurant, tweeted a series of messages regarding the 1989 stadium disaster, where 96 people died.

He said: “It should have been more than 96,” later adding: “Someone direct some Scousers to my account so I can tell them how 96 was nowhere near enough please?”

After the tweets were brought to their attention, a spokesman for McDonald's confirmed they were investigating the issue.

The official McDonald’s Twitter account Tweeted: “We have launched an internal investigation in the matter and I can assure you we are taking this very seriously.[SIC]”
