Man charged with murder of 22-year-old Sheffield woman

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death on a Sheffield estate.

Tapiwa Furusa, aged 37, of Leonard Place, Clarendon Way, Colchester, was charged last night with the murder of Leigh-Anne Mahachi, 22.

He was remanded in custody overnight and is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Leigh-Anne Mahachi, 22, was found seriously injured in a flat in Spotswood Close, Gleadless Valley, at around 8.15am on Tuesday.

Paramedics battled to save her and she was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

A post mortem examination revealed that she died of multiple stab wounds.
