Man charged over theft of handbag from Rotherham pensioner at husband's graveside

A man is due in court today over the theft of a handbag from a pensioner tending to her husband's grave in a Rotherham churchyard.

Wayne Robert Hucknall, aged 33, of Treetown Crescent, Treeton, Rotherham, has been charged with theft from the 80-year-old woman, who was targeted in St Mary’s Church graveyard, St Mary’s Drive, Catcliffe.

He was charged by South Yorkshire Police on Monday and has been bailed until Wednesday, when he is due at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court.
