Man charged over graffiti in Chesterfield park

A man has been accused of daubing offensive graffiti over a band stand in a Chesterfield park.

Mark Chapman, aged 56, of Bellhouse Lane, Staveley, has been charged with two counts of damage, one which took place in Queen's Park on Sunday, April 17 and the other sometime between Thursday, March 31 and Monday, April 4.

A number of offensive words and symbols were written on the walls and floor of the band stand in Queen's Park.

Chapman is due to appear before magistrates at Chesterfield Justice Centre on Friday, June 17.
