Man charged with arson over tower block blaze in Sheffield

A man has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a tower block blaze in Sheffield.

Joshua Leigh Moloney, aged 27, of Mitchell Street, Netherthorpe, is alleged to have started a fire in the Crawshaw block, where he lives, at around 6am on Tuesday.

He is alleged to have started a fire in a cafe at Broughton Lane, Carbrook, Sheffield, between 7.30am and 8am later that day.

Moloney has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday, March 2.

Firefighters were called out to deal with the tower block blaze, which broke out in a fifth floor flat.
