Man charged after crutch 'attack' in Chesterfield


Paul Walker, 27, of Broom Avenue, Pilsley, has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in public, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He is set to appear in Chesterfield magistrates' court later.

Hide AdPolice were called to Beetwell Street at 3.30pm on Monday following reports that a man had struck another man to the head with a crutch.
The 39-year-old who was allegedly hit was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
