Man attacked with metal rods on Sheffield street

A witnesses reported seeing a group of men attack the victim near the hand car wash on Burngreave Road, Burngreave, at about 11.50am.

He said metal bars were used to attack the victim

A South Yorkshire police spokesman confirmed that a male was attacked on Burngreave Road.

He added that officers were still at the scene conducting inquiries.

Police cordoned off the pavement outside the Diamond Hand Car Wash.

A man passing the scene after the attack reported seeing damaged cars in the car wash driveway.

"A Seat in the car wash was smashed up, and another car looked like it had tried driving off but had smashed into someone else's car," the witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said.
