A man has been arrested over the theft of a food van which sparked a massive online campaign to find the missing vehicle.

John’s Van, which serves sandwiches and hot food to customers on Hounsfield Road near The University of Sheffield, was stolen last week.

Police said a 36-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of theft on Tuesday and had been bailed pending further enquiries.

The vehicle was recovered in Chapeltown and van owner Jez Woolley reopened for business with a replacement trailer on Tuesday.
