A MAN is being quizzed today on suspicion of attempted murder following a knife attack in a block of flats in Sheffield.
Officers were called to Binstead Road, Wadsley Bridge, at around 7.15pm last night to reports of a disturbance.
Police said a man aged 37 and a woman aged 32 were both injured during the incident.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested over the attack.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services were called to Binsted Road in Sheffield last night, at 7.15pm after reports of a stabbing.
“A 37-year-old man was attacked in the stairwell in a block of flats on Binsted Road.
“The man sustained non life-threatening wounds to his torso and is currently being treated at Northern General Hospital.
“It is believed a 32-year-old woman attempted to intervene and suffered wounds to the palm of her hand. She is also being treated for her injuries at the Northern General Hospital and her condition is said to be serious.
“A 44-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder last night and detectives are continuing their investigation today.
