Man arrested in connection with Spital Hill murder

A 19-year-old man has been arrested by police in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old Sheffield man.

Ahmed Sayeed Adan, aged 40, died from head injuries after he was attacked outside the Emin Supermarket in Spital Hill.

The assault happened at around 3.45am on Sunday, November 20.

Police said the teenager was arrested tonight - Wednesday - and has since been bailed pending further inquiries.

Mr Adan, from Burngreave, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on Tuesday, November 29.

A post-mortem examination concluded that Mr Adan died as a result of head injuries.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information.
