Man arrested after woman killed while crossing road in South Yorkshire


A man has been arrested after a South Yorkshire woman was killed while crossing the road.

The woman, aged 52, is believed to have been crossing the road when a silver Ford Focus being driven by a 51-year-old man collided with her.

She was pronounced dead at the scene on Doncaster Road, Clifton, near Clifton Park.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The collision happened at about 4.40pm on Saturday, August 6.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 809 of August 6.
