A man and woman suffered life threatening injuries in a crash in Rotherham last night.

The 44-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were in a yellow Renault Megane which crashed into a wall on Grange Mill Lane, Blackburn, at 9.40pm last night.

South Yorkshire Police said the car then crashed into a lorry parked on the road.

A force spokeswoman said: "At around 9.40pm yesterday, it is reported that a yellow Renault Megane convertible was travelling along Grange Mill Lane, Blackburn, from Meadowhall towards Ecclesfield.

"It is believed that the Megane was involved in a collision with a wall, before being involved in a further collision with a white HGV lorry that was parked on the road.

"The occupants of the Megane, a 44-year-old man driving the car and a 28-year-old female passenger, have both been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Did you see the collision or do you hold any information about the incident?"
