A PENSIONER is in a serious condition in hospital after being found in the street with head injuries.
Police found the 76-year-old man lying in the road with serious head injuries on Springfield Avenue in Chesterfield at 11.30pm on Friday.
He was taken to Chesterfield Hospital and later transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said the man was in a serious condition.
Officers do not know how he suffered his injuries, and want to hear from anyone who saw him on Friday evening.
The victim was wearing a brown sheepskin coat, grey cord trousers, a blue and green checked shirt, and a grey fleece hat.
He is 5ft 7ins tall, of slight build, with short brown and grey hair.
