The incidents took place on West Bars and at The Shambles in the town centre during February, police say.

Sgt Nick Booth, of the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, warned people involved in anti-social behaviour they faced action.

He said: “We are committed to targeting anti-social and nuisance behaviour in the town centre and have been responding to the concerns of businesses and members of the public in those areas.”

Sgt Booth added: “We will always take appropriate positive action to ensure our town continues to be a safe and pleasant place to work and visit.”

Gary Newton, of Rutland Road, Chesterfield, is due to appear at North East Derbyshire and Dales Magistrates Court on Friday, April 11.
