Officers are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision in the Warmsworth area last night.
At 11.49pm, emergency services were called to the A630 High Road between the junction of Tenter Road and the Holiday Inn following reports that a man was lying injured in the carriageway.

A 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman said: “His family are being supported by South Yorkshire Police specialist officers at this very difficult time.
“The team investigating this incident believe the pedestrian’s injuries were caused by a collision with a car, and are particularly interested in a white vehicle – possibly a Seat - which did not stay at the scene.”
