Man, 21, dies following South Yorkshire crash

A young pedestrian who was hit by a car in a South Yorkshire collision has now died.

The 21-year-old man died in hospital from his injuries on Wednesday, following the collision last month.

A police spokesman said: "His family has been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers."

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash, which occurred at around 10.05pm on April 11, when it is reported that a Renault Clio was traveling along the A628 Westway in Barnsley from the Alhambra roundabout towards the Townend roundabout.

Near to the junction with Wellington Street, it is reported that the Clio was involved in a collision with a 21-year-old pedestrian.

The driver of the Renault Clio, a 77-year-old man, was not injured during the collision.

A 21-year-old man who suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision in Barnsley last month has died in hospital.
