Major Sheffield road closed due to flooding re-opens
Highways England have been called out to deal with flooding on a major Sheffield road, which was closed for five hours following a heavy downpour of rain yesterday.
A spokesman for Highways England confirmed on Twitter they were sent out to the A616 at around 11pm last night, which they closed in both directions between Stocksbridge and Flouch as a result of the flooding.
A diversion was put in the place, and the road re-opened at around 4am this morning.
A number of other roads across the city are understood to have experienced flooding, following the heavy rain
