Major Sheffield city centre road closed due to fallen streetlight
A major road in Sheffield is closed this evening and police are diverting traffic - due to a fallen streetlight.
Savile Street in Sheffield city centre, near Tesco, is currently closed, according to Sheffield Council.
The authority’s Streets Ahead team tweeted: “Please be aware Savile Street is closed o/s Tesco petrol station due to a street light knockdown. Police are on site to divert traffic.”
Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
UPDATE: The road has now reopened. The light was knocked down in a road traffic collision, the Streets Ahead team tweeted - but the road is now safe and clear again.
