Two men have been injured with one airlifted to hospital after the van they were travelling in crashed into the central reservation on a major motorway near Sheffield.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the link-road, which connects the M18 southbound and the M1 northbound, at around 3.10pm.

A police spokesman said two men were taken to the Northern General Hosptial with non-life threatening back and neck injuries - one via road ambulance and one via air ambulance.

The road remains closed and motorists have been told to expect delays.
