This major Doncaster road will close next week for three weeks for roadworks

A key Doncaster route will close next Monday while a major roadworks scheme takes place.

Sections of Town Moor Avenue will be closed from February 10-28 while Doncaster Council carries out a series of repairs to the route, which links Thorne Road with Leger Way and serves Doncaster Racecourse.

The road will be closed from its junction with Sandringham Road to its junction with Leger Way

It will also be shut from its junction with Sandringham Road to its junction with Imperial Crescent.

Junctions with Imperial Crescent, Buckingham Road, Marlborough Road, Hampton Road and Braemar Road will also be affected.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

There is only one race meeting scheduled during the duration of the roadworks, the 888Sport Grimthorpe Chase, which is due to take place at Town Moor on February 28.

The roadworks may also impact on other events taking place at the Racecourse during the works.
