Mad dash from awards for dad

Have your say

A SHEFFIELD lawyer almost missed the birth of his son while collecting an award for excellence.

Chris Fry, a managing partner at Unity Law, has double cause for celebration when his wife Jackie went into labour shortly after he scooped a Law Society gong.

He had to dash off after picking up the award for Unity Law, based in the Fountain Precinct in Sheffield, in the category of Excellence in Community Investment.

Chris travelled home to Sheffield from London through the night and baby son Leo was born in the early hours of the morning.

Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, Law Society president, said: “I congratulate Chris on the new addition to his family as well as on his firm’s award at our Excellence Awards.”
