M1 motorway near Sheffield to be closed

Motorists have been warned to expect delays on motorways across South Yorkshire this week as roadworks are carried out.

The M1 northbound will be closed for four nights from junction 31 at Aston to junction 32 at Thurcroft from Tuesday, August 28 for carriageway repairs.

The M1 northbound to M18 northbound link road will also be closed.

The souhtbound exit slop road at junction 35 for Thorpe Hesley will also be closed for four nights from Tuesday, August 28 and the southbound entry slip road will be closed on Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31.

All closures will be in place from 8pm until 6am.

Motorists have also been reminded that the A631 Tinsley Viaduct northbound carriageway remains fully closed until Saturday, November 3 for maintenance work.

Drivers will be diverted on to the service road and HGVs should follow the diversion route.
