M1 closed after major accident as air ambulance lands at the scene
The northbound M1 is closed this afternoon following a multi-vehicle collision.
Highways England said the incident occurred between Junctions 29A and 30 earlier today.
The entire northbound stretch between the two junctions is closed while emergency services deal with the incident, which is being overseen by Derbyshire Constabulary.
A diversion is in place for traffic to avoid the crash scene.
