M1 brought to standstill near Meadowhall after crash involving lorry and caravan

The M1 near Meadowhall was brought to a standstill earlier today after a collision involving a lorry and a vehicle towing a caravan.

The collision occurred on the southbound carriageway between Junction 34 for Meadowhall and 35 for Chapeltown.

It has not been revealed whether any injuries were sustained but traffic is now being allowed past the crash scene.

Highways England said the collision had left ‘a large debris field’.
