After spending 18 months in kennels, staff at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary have issued an appeal for someone to give this adorable pooch the forever home he deserves.

Hannah Briggs, Thornberry’s Kennel and Yard Manager, said: “No-one here can understand why the lovely Lucas is still at Thornberry after all this time as he’s such a loving boy!

“Since Lucas has been with us, we’ve had 20,000 visitors through our doors and nearly two hundred other dogs have found new homes, but Lucas has always been over-looked.

“As a stray, nothing is known about the first four years of his life, but our devoted kennel staff have our longest canine resident nothing but love and kindess since November 2014.

“As a typical lurcher, Lucas is very active and would love to play around and go on plenty more long walks or runs with his new family. We’re sure that afterwards he would like nothing better than to snooze curled up on a comfy sofa. He can be nervous around other dogs so a home with no other pets would be ideal for Lucas.”

If you can give Lucas, or any of Thornberry’s other residents, a forever home, pay a visit when the sanctuary is open from Tuesday to Sunday, between 11am and 3pm. Or if you’d like to donate towards the Sanctuary’s monthly £9,000 vet bills, text VETS19 followed by £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
