Two Sheffield organisations are to receive funding from the National Lottery to help refugees into work and volunteering.
Northern Refugee Centre and Voluntary Action Sheffield have been granted £290,000 for the work.
It aims to support refugees ‘to integrate and make a contribution to Sheffield life’.
Steve Barnard, development officer at the NRC, said: “We are delighted to receive this funding which allows us to deliver an integrated volunteering and employment service to refugees in Sheffield.
“Refugees need specialist support to build new lives and to gain employment.
“This project will help people to be better equipped to integrate socially and economically into mainstream life so they can make a contribution.”
