A charity which provides a lifeline to vulnerable people in Sheffield opened its doors to the Lord Mayor and her consort.
Coun Vicky Priestley requested a guided tour of St Wilfrid’s centre for the socially excluded on Queens Road, Lowfield, after attending the annual Christmas party.
She was keen to show husband Lloyd the work which goes on under its roof – from welfare services to cookery classes, computer groups and photography clubs.
The pair were taken around the centre by St Wilfrid’s director Kevin Bradley and got the chance to chat to its users.
Lloyd said: “I was bowled over by the amount of work that goes on at St Wilfrid’s and how caring the staff and volunteers are towards the clients.”
