I am pleased that a long overdue effort to remember the people of Sheffield killed , injured and made homeless in the Blitz is being led by Neil Anderson.
A period I well remember as a 5 year old.
Those nights being made homeless as a five-year-old are forever in my memory, as are all the war years.
I can never understand why permission was given to rebuild on the war grave site of Marples. Surely it should have been given due respect as a war grave site and made into a city centre Blitz memorial garden.
