Loft ordeal of trapped man

A DONCASTER man had to be rescued after getting trapped when he fell from a loft.

The loft ladder at the house in Beech Road, Armthorpe, gave way and the loft door slammed shut on his fingers as he dangled from the roofspace.

He could not free himself and his wife raised the alarm. Doncaster firefighters arrived to release him from his painful predicament.

The man, who is not being named, was taken to hospital for treatment to suspected broken bones in his hand.

Watch Manager David Barrow, from Doncaster fire station, said:: “We had to use a saw to cut him free, which was obviously really painful for him as he had severe injuries to his hand.”
