Local studies free events

Have your say

SHEFFIELD Council’s Archives and Local Studies Service has launched its activities programme with a series of free events.

Because the service’s premises on Shoreham Street are undergoing major building works, sessions are taking place at other venues on subjects ranging from Sheffield’s historic newspapers to Victorian crime and punishment.

On Tuesday Crystal Peaks Library hosts an event about the Victorian art of decorating and marbling paper. On Thursday a workshop at St Mary’s Church and Community Centre on Bramall Lane will show children how to begin tracing their family trees. Call 0114 2039395 to book.
