he beast, whose owners are still not yet known, was spotted running wild in the East Lound area of Haxey on Friday afternoon.
Humberside Police issued a safety warning to residents after the llama was seen loose by a main road shortly after 1pm.
It took numerous attempts to capture the animal as it kept evading capture but eventually it was herded into a secure field.
As the owners have not yet come forward, kind hearted Ted Phillips of Shepherd’s Place Farm in Akeferry Road in Haxey offered to take care of the llama, and it was taken to its temporary new home on Monday teatime.

Ted told the Epworth Bells: “The police are still not sure who it belongs to so we offered to take care of it until the owner does come forward.
“We were going to transport it on Sundaybut we couldn’t get it into the transporter.”
The llama is now in situ but is without a name so Ted has asked Isle residents for suitable suggestions.
