More than 200 lifesavers from across the UK are set to test their skills at the National Lifesaving Championships to be held in Sheffield.

Competitors have fought their way through a number of qualifying heats to take part in the Royal Life Saving Society UK’s annual event, set to be held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre on November 1.

They will battle it out over a series of tests including a speed swim and tow race and a line throw rescue race.

Competitors are all members of the Royal Life Saving Society, a drowning prevention charity.
