A business federation has welcomed a crackdown on litter louts in Sheffield.
Six people were prosecuted by Sheffield Council after failing to pay fixed penalty fines for dropping rubbish.
Andrew Flower, chairman of the South Yorkshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, said: “One of the biggest disincentives to would-be inward investors is the city’s general state of untidiness and unkemptness.
“Some of the city’s industrial areas are a total disgrace, with litter and fly-tipping much in evidence.
“We applaud the council’s actions in taking miscreants to court.”
