As do areas such as Darnall, Crookes, Totley, Norton and Gleadless.

But some smaller parts of Sheffield are less well known.

Sheffield was founded in the 8th Century and was given city status in 1893.

The city covers an area of 142 square miles and has a population of 575,000 people.

At the time of the 1801 Census Sheffield had a population of 60,000 and by 1901 that had grown to 451,000.

Sheffield is split into 28 wards with three councillors representing each ward on Sheffield City Council.
