We have taken to TripAdvisor to find the top 25 takeaways in Sheffield based on customer reviews.

The results show that Sheffielders clearly have varied and adventurous tastes when it comes to convenient, take out grub.

The top 25 list includes Indian, Chinese, American, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Japanese takeaways.

Take outs showcasing Vietmanese, vegetarian and North African food also feature in the top 25.

Surprisingly, there are no fish and chip shops featured in the list.

In total there are more than 1,000 Sheffield restaurants, cafes and takeaways listed on the review website.

TripAdvisor was founded in the United States in 2000 and as well as restaurant reviews and listings it is also known as a hotel review and booking site.

Hotels and eateries that maintain a high rating are awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence.

In 2015 the website made total revenues of around £1 billion.
