Light up a life to help hospice

Have your say

PEOPLE who have lost a loved one are being invited to “light up a life” this Christmas in a special service of remembrance.

The annual event, organised by Barnsley Hospice, encourages people to sponsor a light on a Christmas tree in memory of their loved ones to help raise funds for the hospice’s work.

The lights will shine until Twelfth Night in St Mary’s Church, Barnsley, and the hospice in Gawber, where the services are held. More than 2,000 lights were sponsored last year, raising a total of £37,000 for the hospice.

Services at St Mary’s Church will be held Sunday, December, 2 at 3.30pm and 7pm, and at the hospice on Tuesdays, December, 4 and 11, both at 6.30pm.

Contact Barbara Cronin on 01226 323620 for information about the services.
