Life on Mars or old age in Britain?

It's hard to believe that in this day and age we are in a position to send people into outer space; clearly this is a sign of how far the world has developed.

However, development is relative.

I say this because if you are dependent on the local authority providing home care for your elderly parents or relatives, it seems that by the time they are in a position to get somebody round to their homes for their allocated time period the next moon landing will more than likely have already taken place.

How difficult can it be to provide a reliable, punctual, friendly health care service in 2016. Everybody is aware that we have an aging population and some of these people are in desperate need of good social health care provision, but some of us are foolish enough to believe that when help is required it will turn up on our doorsteps on the day and time that was agreed upon.

If the local authority is able to do what NASA can do, and deliver what it promises then this would be: “One small step for a man, and one giant leap for mankind” and one huge relief for many of its clients.
