Library gets solar panels

A LIBRARY is saving money on its electricity costs after solar panels were installed.

Barnsley Central Library has had the panels installed thanks to the council and a funding contribution from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

It is predicted the new system will save about 12 tonnes of CO2 as well as running costs.

Roger Owen, of CRT Renewable Energy, said: “Our partnership with Barnsley Council is one of many with organisations whose aims are to reduce electricity costs and C02 emissions.”
