Library fails in lottery bid

WOMBWELL library has failed in its bid to the national lottery for funding to create a learning resource centre.

The proposal was to include IT facilities, training and meeting rooms.

Local councillor Dick Wraith said: “It is very bad news. I thought the library stood a good chance with its application.”

Coun Wraith added that he hoped the plans could be looked at again and that Barnsley Council has asked for feedback on why the application has been turned down to help with possible future applications.
