Lengthy delays expected on Dronfield bypass

The work will begin at 4.30pm on a section of the bypass between the Whittington Moor roundabout and the Sheepbridge industrial estate.

Around 80m of the barrier between the Bowshaw roundabout and Sheepbridge industrial estate was destroyed when a lorry hit the central reservation after its driver was taken ill at the wheel shortly after midday.

The lorry has now been cleared but the barrier repair will again reduce the road to one lane in both directions until Saturday morning.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and find alternative routes if possible.

The driver of the skip hire lorry was taken to hospital.
